How we can fix TV Land

TV Land is a channel that showcases vintage programming from the 1950’s to the early 2000’s. While the channel has broadcasted mostly live action content, there was at least one year where the channel had the opportunity to re-air vintage animated series from many different companies outside of the Turner Broadcasting network, Boomerang, in the year 1999. However, for the past four years, TV Land had to make some changes to their network in terms of the logo, advertisements, and programming. This lead to many bad experiences. The year 2015 was not the first time that marked these types of changes to TV Land, as the channel began broadcasting their own original content in 2007.

While the programming on there is good, some of the shows that TV Land broadcasts such as The Goldbergs,Teachers, and Nobodies don’t fit the lineup in any way. These shows are from the 2010’s and are still ongoing to this day. This is not the type of programming that TV Land had aired since its launch in 1996. They are completely unsuitable to the schedule. After Teachers was cancelled on March 19,2019 it marked the last time that TV Land had an original series in production outside of the Paramount Network. This change led up to TV Land beginning to resurrect their focus on showcasing older series like how a throwback channel is supposed to do. Since the original content was moved, nothing else has changed.
As for the logo, it’s the one problem that involves the most changes to the network. However, the logo from June 2015 does not resemble anything that involves a television set of any kind, unlike past logos. It looked like it was made for social media posters, which really takes away the classic aspect the channel that it had since 1996. When the logo is seen as an on-screen bug, the viewers would know that it is not something they would find on a retro channel. The 2015 logo looks like it was found on Snapchat or Instagram, which is worse than the new TV Land channel itself.
What I want for the channel is a return to a classic styled logo. The 2010’s programming needs to be cancelled. More classic live action and animated series should be aired throughout the schedule more often. TV Land should also have better advertisements like in its 1996 to 2000 or 2001 to 2009 era.
