What Cartoon Network needs to improve upon
Cartoon Network is a channel that airs mostly animated series distributed by Warner Bros. TV. However, over the past 6 years, I have been experiencing a lot of issues with the programming, scheduling, bumpers, logo, and rebrand. When I compare those five things I know that they are not as good as the channel used to be before the 2010’s. I have seen the same five things for a long time by now and I believe it is time for a new change of focus.
For the programming, some of the shows (such as The Amazing World of Gumball, Steven Universe, and Craig of the Creek) are good while a few others (like Teen Titans Go!, Mega Man: Fully Charged, Ben 10 (2016), The Powerpuff Girls (2016), Mighty Magiswords, and the new Thundercats cartoon, Thundercats Roar!) are kinda bad. It seems like Teen Titans Go! is currently one of the worst Cartoon Network shows right now according to the fans of the 2003 Teen Titans series. Steven Universe and O.K. K.O. are barely shown on the channel because of two other shows (Teen Titans Go! and Gumball) are airing multiple marathons throughout the day. A lot of Cartoon Network viewers would hope that the programming would improve when and if new original content and older reruns (like Total Drama and Powerpuff Girls (1998)) start airing on the channel but not a lot
As for the scheduling, it is very disorganized and it lacks variety. There are way too many episodes of Teen Titans Go! and Gumball every day. There isn’t even enough time to air other ongoing series like The Tom and Jerry Show (2014), Wabbit, Bunnicula, Wacky Races (2017), Dorothy and the Wizards of Oz, and Lego Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu during the day. The 6 to 7pm time slot on weekend mornings is not be the time to air new episodes of Transformers:Cyberverse, Mega Man: Fully Charged, Bakugan Battle Planet and probably Steven Universe because it will not get very good ratings on the channel. The Channel can’t even air pass 8 or 9pm or before 6am because of Adult Swim’s overnight schedule which could give more time to air new episodes of original series. Older reruns should also be aired on the network too since not everybody gets Boomerang.
As for the bumpers, logo, and rebrand, they appear to be very bland for most viewers to look at. The current logo has already been around long enough; the 1992 logo lasted for 12 years, the 2004 logo lasted for 6 years, and the 2010 logo is already been around for 9 years. I also believe that it is time to create a new logo for the channel as well as a new rebrand era. The bumpers aren’t very good, since they seem too much for the kids of the Generation Z era and it looks like it’s aimed more on teens than kids. The end credit bumpers are also barely shown after the show ends and even if it does the it is seen to be shown in very tiny text on the bottom that we can barely see during the last few seconds of each show. During the end credits, we should have the opportunity to get a closer look on which people made the cartoon and who produced it.
What I want the channel to do is to create more 2000’s styled animated bumpers, assign a better announcer, create better advertisements, a new logo, better scheduling, air better programs, and a new rebrand for the most part. There are way too many problems that we have with Cartoon Network as well as its sister channel, Boomerang.

Yeah they really should have taken an interest in airing Galactic Kids Next Door
ReplyDeleteI agree the shows that I want Cartoon Network to air again are Teen Titans, Ben 10 (2006), Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon by 4Kids Entertainment, Ben 10: Alien Force, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, some crossovers we never got like Teen Titans and Ben 10, Codename Kids Next Door, Ed, Edd, and Eddy, The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, and Totally Spies because those new shows they're airing on Cartoon Network are trash and whack.
ReplyDeleteI liked when they had the characters from previous decade interact with each other in the city, and had holiday specials with the bumpers. Also I miss the Friday night new episodes buildup with the hosts.
